Te Aka Mātauranga Matepukupuku Centre for Cancer Research Inaugural Symposium

‘Linking the Vines’

The Te Aka Mātauranga Matepukupuku –  Centre for Cancer Research Inaugural Symposium is focused on engaging the cancer community, increasing the visibility of cancer research in New Zealand, and unifying emerging and established areas of cancer research.

Te Aka is so named ‘the ascending vine of cancer knowledge’ and provides a central function in growing the success and reach of cancer scholarship. Linking the vines builds on the concept of the ingoa Māori, moving upwards and outwards to link the current tendrils, shoots and strong vines of existing cancer knowledge to Māori, the community, the sector and researchers. This symposium brings together both the green shoots of ideation and established vines, nurturing new growth and development in transdisciplinary working.

Linking the Vines will be held at the University of Auckland Grafton Campus on 24th and 25th November 2022.

There is no charge for members of Te Aka to attend. Cancer researchers from throughout New Zealand are welcome to register. To become a member please click here.
